The Making of Swallows & Amazons: read a sample chapter (pdf)
Sophie Neville recently appeared on CBBC's new TV show 'Cinemaniacs' to promote her book, The Making of Swallows & Amazons published by Classic TV Press. After acting in films as a child, Sophie forged a career in television production at the BBC, writing a number of the dramas and documentaries that she produced.

The story of an abrupt change in her life is told in Funnily Enough, a Christian testimony that became a bestseller on Kindle reaching #1 in Humour on Amazon UK sales and #2 in all categories of the Amazon UK free Kindle chart. In 2013 this inspirational story won her third prize in the International Rubery Book Award and was serialised in iBelieve, the national Christian magazine alongside Nicky Gumbel and Joyce Meyer. The sequel, Ride the Wings of Morning, tells of her escapades in southern Africa while working as a wildlife artist and freelancing for the BBC. Her ebook, The Secrets of Filming Swallows & Amazons, which attracted unprecedented press coverage in The Times, Telegraph and Daily Mail, has been in the Top 20 for Kindle 'Stage and Theatre' since it came out in November 2013.

A volunteer speaker for Bible Society, Sophie also gives talks on the film Swallows & Amazons in which she played Titty. In 2015 she will be speaking at the Chalke Valley History Festival, a number of cinema screenings and various literary weekends. She lives on the south coast with her husband Simon and her dog Flint.
