Fire Safety at Home
Update, Friday, August 4, 2006
The High Street now been reopened.
Thursday, August 3, 2006
Due to a fire on Wednesday night (2/8/2006) at Swan Motors in the industrial estate behind Aldi, Yiewsley High Street has been closed. The section between Fairfield Road/St Stephen's Road to a point north of the junction with Falling Lane/Trout Road is currently cordoned off by police due to a risk of explosion from gas cylinders.
Traffic is being diverted via Horton Road, with buses running to and from Uxbridge through Stockley Park. Fairfield Road and the West Drayton end of the High Street, south of Fairfield Road, remain open to pedestrians, with most shops open as normal. Shops in the cordoned off area are closed until the section is reopened.
