Written and directed by Robert Jones, the performance retold the Bible's story of creation as God “Big G” took hold of the primaeval chaos and darkness then wove it into a universe and world of beauty, colour and light, a home for the human race to dwell in harmony with air and land and sea, with the birds and fish, the plants and animals.
Yet, the story continued, somehow the human race lost its way, lost sight of the Master Magician and, in all its cleverness and creativity, despite astonishing leaps in technology, people found themselves doing nothing but going around and around in endless circles with mobile phones and MP3 players talking and texting and listening only to themselves.
But the show must go on! Big G continues to weave his amazing magic amongst and all around us as he waits for us to talk to him.
The performance was followed by free coffee and hot cross buns served in St Matthew's Parish Centre.
