New Year — New Yiewsley?

Perhaps not quite a new Yiewsley - but a new web portal for Yiewsley.
St Matthew's Church in Yiewsley has a simple mission statement: 'Serving God, Supporting the Community'. And one of the ways the church will be serving Yiewsley through 2006 is by sharing its webspace via a new web portal dedicated to Yiewsley: www.yiewsley.org.uk
The site's aim is to provide a complete A-Z guide to Yiewsley: churches
(of course!), community and voluntary groups
, crime prevention and policing
, information on fire safety
, health services
, heritage and history
... and anything else within reason that anyone in Yiewsley would like to see featured.
Information for the site is currently being collated. The site isn't complete and perhaps in a constantly changing community it never will be: but as far as possible it will be updated on a weekly basis as new information is provided. New information to update existing pages and suggestions for new pages can be submitted via a simple online Visitors' Book and Feedback Form, www.yiewsley.org.uk/vbook.htm
In his New Year message
on December 31st 2005 the Archbishop of Canterbury referred to "closing the gap" - to letting people know that they are not alone when difficult times come. Here at St Matthew's we hope that this new web portal will be one way in which we and all the people of Yiewsley can close the gaps in our community by discovering and supporting one another.
Please explore the site and help to close any gaps in it by using the Visitors' Book
to provide your feedback.
