High Street Petition Acknowledged

Sunday, February 19, 2006

The petitions launched to oppose the Yiewsley High Street plans have been formally acknowledged by the London Borough of Hillingdon Cabinet Office. A total of 86 Hillingdon residents signed the petition forms which have been delivered to the council's Planning and Transportation Department.

In a letter dated 17 February 2006 to Phil Groom, who submitted several copies of the petition, Ms Gill Brice writing on behalf of the Cabinet Office, stated that the date on which the planning application will be reported to the Central & South Planning Committee is not yet known. When the date is known, however, a representative of the petition's signatories has the right to speak to the Committee for up to 5 minutes and may also be questioned by the Committee for up to 3 minutes.

Yiewsley Ward's Councillors, the Chairman of the Committee and the Labour Lead will all be informed of the receipt of the petition.
