60 Devotions

Michael Green with Elspeth Taylor
ISBN 9780310252467 (0310252466)

Category: Devotional

A lovely collection of sixty short "thought for the day" bursts of sunlight. It's a great idea to not simply learn about the prayer life of Paul, but to use it as an occasion to stimulate prayer in yourself.

Each devotion starts with a verse or three from the book of Acts or the Epistles, often chasing through a longer prayer of Paul over the course of three or four days. This is followed by four or five paragraphs of Michael Green's explanation and elucidation of the passage, usually reassuring and occasionally challenging. And at the end a few sentences of a prayer ties it all together and helps ground it all in your own life.

Don't expect a lot of surprises, don't expect to learn a lot of new facts, but hand yourself over to contemplating Paul's prayer life and you can expect some growth in your own.
