This is a small shop which is in two sections: a general section and another equal-sized section devoted to Christian books. This used to be a separate business, Our Lady of Lourdes Bookshop (indicating the RC origins) but it carries a wide selection including mainstream Protestant and Evangelical publishers in addition to Roman Catholic resources. The Hope Centre, is an initiative of Hope in North East Cheshire.
It is based in the old Wesley Owen bookshop in Park Green, Macclesfield. It functions both as a coffee shop, and a Christian bookshop selling books, CD and other fairly traded goods. In addition to these commercial aspects is is designed to provide a beacon of hope to the people of Macclesfield.
Mission Statement The Hope Centre exists to provide a means by which the churches of Macclesfield and the surrounding area can in a practical and unimposing manner reach out to the people of the town with hope and compassion.
